If a storyline of particular show is predictable, then that leaves the audience with no other option but to keep hopping channels looking for something better to watch. Producers need to understand that the audience enjoy a good script.
The new season of Skeem Saam started on the 14th of July. The good news for the followers of this youthful story is that it’ll now be broadcasted from Monday to Friday at 18:30. The story is shot in Limpopo at a place called Turfloop. It tells the real stories that young people encounter at their homes, schools and on the outside world. There is betrayal, hate and teenage pregnancy. It will be good to teach young people about the realities of life and make them aware of the hardships of life. Since inception, the story has grown with each episode. Etv’s Rhythm city now has a real competitor one could say.
When you think about Rhythm City, one character that comes to mind is the villain David Genaro. The story of this loved soapy is becoming dull. One of the reasons why young people will enjoy Skeem Saam is because it relates to them. What is happening in this particular story relates to them more than anything. The relevancy is of essence. Teenage pregnancy is a problem in our society. I
Rhythm City has some how lost the reality of things. The story doesn’t connect with young people. If Rhythm City is not careful, they might lose their audience to this youth story.
Skeem Saam’s story is potrayed in Sepedi, which is one of South Africa’s 11 official languages. There are a number of new faces on the new season, the likes of Amanda Du Pont, which makes the much-revered story to be stronger. Rhythm city will need to fuse in the young guns so that they can add that vibey story-line young people enjoy more. Genaro along with Naomi happen to be the ones to save Rhythm City when the chips are down. However, will they be able to fight back at Skeem Saam?
The only way to find out is to stay tuned to this rival channels every week at 18:30
