This however isn’t the normal “tea and Tennis Biscuits” visit that most of us grew up with. Obama will be in the country to strengthen relations between SA and the US.

Mzansi Celebrating Africa Day

Written by Super User.

AfricaAfrica Day is the annual celebration of African Unity. The date, 25 May, is derived from the date on which the founding organisation – Organisation of African Unity – was formed. The Organisation of African Unity was later succeeded by the African Union.  This year is the 50th anniversary of the continent’s celebration of unity and freedom.

The day is focussed on celebrating the achievements of the continent as well as the rich heritage and its diverse people.  It is worth remembering that the objectives of the African Union is that all African states should unite so that the welfare and well-being of all its people can be protected and advanced. This year’s celebrations are titled: “2013, Year of Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance”.

The First Ever UEFA German Showdown

Written by Jeffrey Nkuna - @TheRealJayNkuna.

Bayern-Munichs-Arjen-Robb-001How many Real Madrid or Barcelona fans will be glued to their screens this weekend to watch the showdown between German giants: Bayern Munchen and Borussia Dortmund? I think mzansi’s answer is obvious. A true fan of European football, or football in general, wouldn’t miss this cup final for the world. It’s a cup final that honestly came from nowhere. Maybe a few of us were expecting Bayern to get to the finals (with Messi being injured and the rest of the team a showing lack of confidence in the semi final clashes between Barcelona FC and Bayern Munchen), but very few soccer enthusiasts were ready to see their beloved Real Madrid suffer an embarrassing loss against Borussia Dortmund.
