Deep House Chronicles 8 – House Factory

Soul Candi has released another edition of Deep House Chronicles, this time they teamed up with one of Cape Town’s finest, Thibo Tazz. Deep House Chronicles 8 - House Factory is a well-blended fusion of deep-techno sounds from around the globe. The album features tracks by Ben Westbeech, Lady Alma, Nathan G and a production by Thibo Tazz with Shati on the vocals. Thibo Tazz effortlessly fuses deep-tribal sounds with a bit of a techno touch to bring about an explosive, unique sound. I don’t see love, Heavenly and Ndi Nga Si Ni Litshe (Never Let You Go) are amongst the many standout tracks to listen out for. This album should suit anyone whose taste borders on deep/techno sounds.

Review for House Afrika Sessions 2

House Afrika has done it again! ,after the successful launch of Rumble in the Jungle a few weeks ago. Africa’s House Music power house brings you House Afrika Sessions 2, a true collector’s item for lovers of deep soulful house music. The album is a 5 disc bumper which features young brilliant local talent. The stable has really gone all out in unearthing Mzansi’s future on this one, the album features:

• Da Capo (Disc 1- Touch)
• Zeedan (Disc 2 - Addicted 2 House)
• Keys Snow (Disc 3 - The Bigger Picture)
• Sculptured Music (Disc 4 – Given By Nature)
• Chymamusique (Disc 5 – House Dimensions)

All the tracks are produced by various talented artists who are truly the future of Mzansi House music. The vocalists featured on the tracks include Empress Lebo, S-Tone, Kabomo, Zano, and Mpho Maboi just to name a few.  The pack contains the diverse elements of the deep house genre, ranging from Tribal, Soulful to Jazzy sounds. It’s an audiogasmic experience listening to the bumper album as each disc tells a unique story, you can easily get lost in a world of deep house sounds.

The music journey will take you about 5 hours or so if you, like myself, want to complete the whole pack in a go, or you can rather host a party and just play the entire pack without ever having to skip a single track. True deep house lovers are in for a lovely treat with this release. This is one album you should add to your spring collection.

Drake - 25 “sittin” On a High School Diploma

Aubrey Graham better known as ‘Drake’ graduated from high school on Wednesday. The famous rapper had dropped out of school at the age of 15, to pursue a role on a drama series named “Degrassi: The next generation”, at only one credit to graduate. The 25 year old ‘sittin on 25 mills’ expressed his joy and pride on social media with his fans. Drake though has always put it out there that school doesn’t really make you successful, its “a push to further you’’ I guess the superstar needed the push. He tweeted saying this was the greatest feeling in his entire life.

He thanked his teacher Kim Janzen for the tireless work. He obtained 97% for his final exam and 88% in the course. If this doesn’t prove that education has no age I don’t know what will. The ‘HYFR’ rapper has proven that no fame or money is better than education. We hope now that his fans that had followed in his foot-steps and dropped out of high school will go back as the rapper has done after 10 years. We congratulate him on this auspicious achievement.
